Biography
Rowena had her first singing debut in the 4th Grade for her school's Annual Christmas Show. However, it wasn't until her early 20's that she discovered her true singing talent after taking a voice class at SF City College. It was from this class, where she met keyboardist, and original founder of Rendezvous, Nel Tellez, that she began braving the stage (with Don, Phil and Nelson) and finding her voice, all the while surprising her family and friends. Since then, she has been wowing the crowds at street fairs, special occasions and various concerts from Nevada to Southern California.
Rowena's most memorable performance was when she sang with her inspiration, jazz songstress, Ledisi. Her other musical influences include Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Lauren Hill, Alanis Morrisette, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, George Michael and 'anyone who can honestly pour their heart and soul out on the table.'
Rowena has continued to share the stage with an array of amazing bands and artists aside from Rendezvous, including Keith Johnson All Stars, AM Radio, Big City Revue, Pulse, D'Groove, Masterpiece, Release, 25th Hour, NuVerze, The Guess Band, Signature Band, Too Smooth, Jesse Charles Band, TBR (To Be Real), Henry and Marivic Concepcion, J.S. Ingram, Mark Kaye, and Filipino artist, Ariel Rivera.
Off stage, Rowena's next greatest passion aside from music, is nursing. She is a registered nurse and geriatric nurse practitioner. For the future, Rowena hopes to continue to grow as an artist by songwriting and recording, in addition to sharing her love of life with others through all her passions.
